Film Making by Kris Malkiewicz, Published by Simon & Schuster, New York. ISBN: 978-0-671-76634-4.
I found this book on Amazon which was first published in 1986 and revised in 1992; so is a little dated now as it only talks about film making using film-stocks and there is no reference at all to digital film making. However, the principles of lighting a film set haven’t changed that much as a result of camera technology and although much of the equipment and techniques I will never have the privilege to use or practice there were still some useful nuggets that I can use, plus a lot of information of the rules and principles of lighting and exposure were reinforced into my memory. I enjoyed this book as it gives you a good insight into the work of Cinematographers, Gaffers and even Grips and the most typically practiced tricks of their trade.
